About Us

Forbes Golf Design is a New Hampshire firm that specializes exclusively in golf course planning and design. Over the past twenty years we have been involved with over seventy golf course developments in twelve countries on three continents.

We have experienced just about every geographic, topographic and climatic extreme imaginable; and have successfully completed projects of all sizes and budgets.

We have developed a strong reputation for our attention to detail throughout the design and construction process. Our distinctive site-sensitive designs utilize the existing features of the native landscape to the fullest extent possible and thus ensure that construction costs are kept to a minimum.

We handle our renovation and restoration projects with the same sensitivity. We are avid students of the great architects of the classic age of golf course design and recognize the features that make their courses unique.

On a restoration, we utilize original drawings and photographs to study how the course has changed over time and where the original architect’s strategic intent may have been compromised. We then make any needed modifications in the style and spirit of the original architect – just as if they were making the modifications themselves.

Complete owner satisfaction is our goal on every project. Of course, an owner’s primary concern is how the golfing public will respond to their new course. Will the golf course generate the interest necessary to thrive? We are pleased that golfers around the world have enthusiastically embraced our courses, with many ranking at or near the top in their respective countries.
